Here’s what could replace your neighborhood Salad and Go

After Salad and Go abruptly closed all its stores in August, several drive-through brands lined up, interested in buying the leases for locations in Arizona, Nevada, Texas and Oklahoma.

Arkansas-based 7 Brew, a coffee shop aiming to rapidly expand its footprint nationwide, bought the lion’s share of locations. It outbid Dutch Bros for 63 locations in a bulk sale, then bought a handful more in a non-bulk auction.

“7 Brew and its franchise partners are looking to bring the brand’s purpose to cultivate kindness to the community led by its ‘Brew Crew’ that now creates smiles while serving over 1 million drinks per day,” Doug Terfehr, head of communications for 7 Brew, said in a statement. “With 20,000 customizable drink combinations and service focused on speed and kind service, 7 Brew looks forward to sharing future plans about growing in the market soon.”

Daniel Patino, co-founder and executive chef for Salad and Go, bought the brand, intellectual property and two locations. He plans to bring the brand back and reopen the stores.

Patino said growing Salad and Go is his “purpose,” and he wants to build it back to what it was before the bankruptcy.

Other buyers included Dutch Bros, Swig and Just Salad. Most of the sales have been finalized, but some remain under negotiation.
