Arizona Unemployment Drops To a Record Low Article originally posted on HERE on June 25, 2024 Arizona’s unemployment rate has hit a new record low at 3.4% month over month. Doug Walls is with the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity. “This rate beat the previous record low, a 3.5%, set back in August 2007 and also marks the fourth consecutive month that the unemployment rate declined,” Walls said. Over the past year, the state has added nearly 64,000 jobs, and Arizona outpaces the national labor force growth rate by half a percent. Walls says there were gains in several different employment sectors. “Those include the health care, manufacturing, real estate, rental and leasing and the insurance carrier sectors,” Walls said. The report also shows job sector losses, which include government, private educational services, followed by leisure and hospitality. Full Report here: emp-report-0
